Haul + Reviews

Wow, so its been awhile since my last post. I have been pretty busy with tons of things. I've been planning my vacation this summer and out with friends that I haven't seen in months. Its been pretty great these last few weeks.
While all of that was going on, I did purchase some beauty products and received some gifts from my mother. So this post will be a quick little haul and short reviews, since I have used the products quite a bit.

$31
The first purchase was Urban Decay's Complexion Primer Potion - Pore Perfecter. I've been using it for about two weeks now and it actually does minimize pores and make your skin look velvety smooth. It actually doesn't get rid of pores or anything, but while it is on it sort of does look like it. The consistency is smooth and easy to apply on your face. It does come out white, although that doesn't really matter since you'll be putting foundation over it. I really like this product and remember "A little goes a long way."

$7.95
Ever since I've found Coastal Scents, I can't stop buying makeup off of there. This is the Camo Quad in Dark. I've given up my MAC concealer for this stuff. Its a creamy consistency that stays put and does not dare slide off. It's pretty much the equivalent of the Makeup Forever sculpting kits to be honest. On days when I don't want to wear too much makeup, I just wear this concealer and some pressed powder. I use the medium dark shade the most on my hyperpigmentation and under my eyes I mix the lighter brown and medium dark shade together. When I want to get all fancy, I use the darkest shade to contour and sculpt my face; which I don't do often. I love this stuff and I think it is my Holy Grail concealer as of now.

$4.95

Also from Coastal Scents is their pressed powder foundation. I use it as a pressed powder to set my makeup though and I do not use too much. I actually haven't ran into any bad pressed powders, I'd say this is the equivalent to my Cover Girl pressed powder. It pretty much does the job, I really can't complain.

$4.95. on sale right now $2.95
Yet another purchase from Coastal Scents; this is their liquid eyeliner in Jet. Its one of the blackest eyeliners I've seen and the application is really easy. I normally poke my eye with these types of wands but not this one. I had to switch from my Almay black eyeliner because whenever I would apply, it would burn my eyelid. I have about five different black eyeliners that I use, this being the main one. I love love love it!

These are the gifts that my mom got me from Lush. I am so in love with Lush products and these are pretty great. I'll start with the soap. I've used it only twice and I really like the way it smells. I don't like the way it feels though. Whenever I lather it on my face, it feels extremely dry. Although the results are pretty freaking amazing. I was having pimple problems one day and used this, the next day my face was clear.
Now the Tea Tree Water Toner is just as amazing. I have been using it for about a week and a half now and it gives me a nice glow.  I use it every time I wash my face and it just leave my face feeling even more clean. Lush products never cease to amaze me!

So that is my beauty haul, I hope you all enjoyed it and the reviews too. I do recommend these products btw.

FOTD

Today was May Day! It was also a very beautiful day and I decided to do a colorful Face of the Day. I got a few compliments on it too.
So this is the looks. I always just focus on my eyes and its purple, lilac, plum, and a light pink. I really love how it makes my brown eyes pop. I hardly ever put anything in my lower lash line unless it is a bright color. I just really liked the way it turned out and I feel like my makeup skills are improving.  The eyes have Coastal Scents, Too Faced, Urban Decay and Drugstore products on them.

In other news, I called the Makeup Academy that I will be attending in September and made an appointment to see what I will be learning while attending. I'm really excited about that. Also last night I did my moms makeup and gave her some tips. She has very distinct eyes and I told her that she should wear crease colors to make her eyes pop more. This morning she took my advice and did exactly that. I think I might be a pretty good Makeup Artist once I obtain my license :)

Hair Update + FOTD

I haven't talked about hair in a month, so why not a little update on my hair. I dyed it last month a medium light brown. About a week after the dye job, I clipped about two inches off because my ends were a bit damaged. My roots have started growing out about half an inch and they are kind of a pain, but I'm going to deal with it because I really am trying to grow out my hair. Right now its a little past shoulder length and my goal is bra strap length. Its going to take awhile, but that's okay.
Also two days ago, I noticed that my edges were a bit on the damaged side. My mom suggested that I cut straight or blunt bangs so that my edges weren't exposed.
I have always been reluctant on cutting my bangs like this, just because of what people have always said. Sometimes you shouldn't listen to people's opinions, because I should have done this a LONG time ago. I really like the way that it shapes my face and brings more attention to my eyes. When my edges aren't showing, my hair looks 10x healthier too!

Sorry for the infamous bathroom pictures, but today was extremely gloomy and rainy; this was the best lighting. I have no eye makeup on in these either, which is something I rarely go without. I felt like I needed a change from my regular hair style. I mean just a little change such as clipping my bangs has given me the biggest boost of confidence.

Now on to Face of the Day.
So this was actually my FOTD on Friday, but I still wanted to post it anyway. Friday was a really sunny day and I wanted to make my eyes pop but look natural at the same time. So my lid is just a dark matte brown from my Matte Eye Palette and my crease is a vibrant plum from my Coastal Scents Palette. My lower lash line is UD 24/7 Pencil Liner in Ransom and my water line is UD Pencil in Perversion. My lash line is topped up with Almay Liquid Liner in Black and my lashes are curled with Lashgasm from Too Faced.

So that's all, I really don't have any news coming up, but if and when I do I will be sure to post it!

Nail Polish Challenge Pt 1 and Party Outfit

So I thought since its the start of a new month, I would do the nail polish challenge in two parts. Mainly because I don't have very many followers and I'm still debating which my favorite nail polishes are. I did pick five so far and those are just the main ones I wear. I'm not going to show what they look like on until I'm done with the challenge.
In order from left to right
1. O P I Fly: I am SO in love with this color. Its so bright and just pretty! Its the Nicki Minaj line which pretty much explains the brightness of it. I looked for this color for months but it was ALWAYS sold out EVERYWHERE. Then I finally went to Ulta and there were about three left! I do want to try her other colors one day.
2. Butter HRH: I like this color because well purple is my favorite color and its the best purple that I have used and is very long lasting. Usually purples comes out black looking or too light and this is perfect for me.
3. Essie Lilacism: Pastels are in this Spring, so I had to go and get me a nice lavender nail polish. The other pastels weren't really me so I stuck to what I knew. I mainly use this one for my toes.
4. Sally Hansen Celeb City: You'll see me rocking this color during a special occasion or during winter time. It last about a good two weeks on your nails with minimal chipping. I had this on my toes for a month in half without any problems.
5. Sinful Colors Rise and Shine: I bought this maybe a month before I bought the OPI Fly. Its pretty much a dupe of it, except that its a little bit greener and its not as bright. Sinful Colors is priced at one dollar so you can't expect it to be super long lasting. They do have many dupes of the more expensive brands.
Part Two Coming Soon

This weekend was a wild one. I sort of went to a party at the last minute. When I say last minute, I mean I didn't even get to do my makeup the right way or even wear the appropriate outfit. At a house party I expected leggings and a nice cute shirt, but no all the girls were dressed up like they were going to a dinner party or to the club. I think I was the most casual person in there. I was in my favorite jeans, a cute shirt (at least) and my Ugg Boots.
What I would have worn. Dress: Arden B, Necklace: Bday Present
To my advantage, I was the most comfortable in there. It seemed like ever girl was sitting down complaining about their aching feet. I know to NEVER wear stiletto heels to a house party or any kind of heels for that matter. I also think I had the most fun. I met new people and danced my booty off. I have to say I really love meeting (friendly) new people every now and then; its refreshing.
Speaking of new people, I need some more followers!

Small Haul and Eyes of the Day

I recently purchased the NYX Palette of I'm Dreaming of St. Lucia. I got it off of HauteLook and it took about two weeks to arrive. It also came with a bright blue eyeliner and a roll on shimmer. The colors are lime green, light blue, yellow, pink, and orange. The colors are fairly pigmented aside from the yellow but that was expected.

I didn't swatch the colors, but I'll have some looks with these colors now that it is officially Spring. Or at least I thought it was Spring. Today was freezing, it was about 35 degrees all day. This place has the most random weather; glad I didn't pack up my winter clothes just yet.
I did do a look today, combining this palette and my Too Faced Matte Eye palette. I also stole some of my mom brushes in order to blend correctly.

Clearly I used the blue inside the palette on my lid and Coffee Bean (a dark brown) on my crease. Since I'm out of my favorite Buxom eyeliner, I settled for the Tarte liner which works pretty much the same. I'm not sure why my face has so many small bumps, but don't pay attention to that. I also applied some of the blue to my lower lash line. That is something I never do, because I always feel like I look like I got punched in the eye or a clown. With bright colors it actually works, thankfully. The mascara I used is Tarte Mascara and Lashgasm. I still haven't figured out which one I like the best, so why not use both?

Later in the day, I headed over to Rite-Aid and I was looking for a gold eyeshadow because I realized that I don't have a (good) gold eyeshadow! So I ran across the Wet n Wild palette I'm Getting Sunburned.

The colors are labeled Brow bone, crease, and eyelid. I'm sure I'll use them quite differently though, because I'm not sure how I feel about a pink brow bone. The palette was only $2.99, so very budget friendly. I then googled the product and apparently the colors are very pigmented....
And I must agree! These are shimmery too, but I think I like these shimmers. The gold is hard to see on my skin color, but with some primer it will definitely POP on my eyes and I can't tell you how happy that makes me. :)
Also I've been working on the a Nail Polish challenge. Its taking me quite awhile because I also want to show different designs and not just my favorite nail polish. So that will be a blog post in a few days. Until next time :)

Feels like July

So yesterday it got to be about 80 degrees...in MARCH. Mind you I don't live in a tropical rainforest nor in southern California (anymore) so it just wasn't normal at all. I honestly didn't think it would get that hot because the weatherman always predicts wrong; saying there will be 8 inches of snow and we only get something they call "snow showers" and mid 50 degree weather. But lo and behold it reached 80 and it was HOT!
So, in my last post I did say I was going thiftting, which I did. I didn't get lucky and find anything that seemed to fit my style or had potential to. Although, I did score two silk scarves.

Aren't these just gorgeous? The red, white, and black one is pure silk and the gold, black, silver, and red one is crepe de chine silk. I guess I could wear these as head scarves; I don't know I'll find some way to rock these beauts.

So it turned out that the mall was right around the corner from the thrift store.... I know, I know it was supposed to be thrifting experience, but who can pass up the mall on such a beautiful day? The first stop was Victoria Secret Pink and I have heard nothing but good things about their body mists. Only I didn't get the scent that EVERYBODY seemed to get in the little bottle, but the PINK Fresh Vanilla's in the Pretty Cool scent (don't mind the lashes.) They were also 50% off and ended up only costing $9 so maybe I was thrifting? It smells so good and its not overpowering. I put some on today and it surprisingly lasted the majority of the day.
Those eyelashes I told you not to mind, well I bought those too at the MAC counter in Nordstrom. They were way more than I was expecting so, definitely going to be used for a special occasion.  I'm not even an expert at putting lashes on, so this was more of an impulse buy. Oh well, I WILL use them though.

I have so many projects that I want to do; makeup, hair, fashion, and  decorating. My next project will probably be makeup brush holders, because right now they are in my drawer just sitting in there and I'm pretty sure that isn't a very sanitary place considering I put EVERYTHING else in there. Also, either next week or the week after that, I'm going to go an even lighter brown on my hair. Not too light though, just a bronze color. It still looks so dark now even in the direct sunlight. That will change soon, because I went pretty light this time. I bought the L'oreal Feria Hi-Lift Brown in Cool Brown Hopefully its not too drastic. Wish me luck.

Beautiful Blue Skies

It was such a beautiful day today, compared to the bi-polar winter we had here. There was not a cloud in the sky. So not only did I dress for the part, but I also made my face up for the part.
These colors aren't very pigmented, but I thought it actually looked nice.
To match the makeup I wore some jeans and a horizontal striped scoop neck from Hollister.
I used my Shany 40 color palette.

You can definitely see the silver in this picture along with my infamous curly hair.
I actually just got done dyeing my hair brown to make it all one color. This winter I went crazy with bleach and unnatural semi permanent dye. I think pink looked the best on me. Since its spring and soon to be summer, I'm gradually going to a lighter brown and maybe even auburn color.
Atomic Pink and Pink Flamingo
Oh the crazy looks I would get with those streaks. It ended up being tons of upkeep and I just never rebleached my roots and dyed them pink again. So I had all dark brown roots and then random pink peaking out all over my head. So I went for the light-er brown to get it all even. I'm definitely looking forward to dyeing my hair more natural colors actually, besides blonde. Still not THAT bold yet.

In other news, yesterday my Sigma Foundation brush came in the mail. I was so excited. Since I decided nay for college, I must do something in my spare time like dabbling with makeup. Maybe become a famous makeup artist in Hollywood. Getting kind of ahead of myself there huh? Anyhow, I've been doing a tons of research on brushes and Sigma seems to get a lot of noise and since foundation is a must, I purchased a foundation brush =).
F60 Foundation Brush
Well since things are up to date, I might add that tomorrow I'm going Thrift Store Shopping. I can't wait, I've been trying to go for awhile. I will be sure to make a blog post about my infatuation with THRIFTING! Until next time!

First Post

Hey there Divas, this is my first post on Blogger! This is where I will be posting my Outfits of the Day and my Makeup Creations. I do have a personal blog on Wordpress, but I found that there were more Beauty Guru's and Fashionistas on Blogger. I cannot wait to do more blog posts on here.
So I thought my first blog would be a review on a Makeup Palette I bought recently.
I ordered the Urban Decay Book of Shadows IV on the Urban Decay website, they were having a sale and I thought "hey why not?" It finally came in the mail yesterday and I was and still am excited!
It was WAY bigger than I expected it to be. It comes with liquid eyeliner, mascara, primer, USB cord, speaker and a card to scan the looks, where you can watch the videos on your phone. I wasn't really impressed with the looks that came with it, because they used pretty much the same colors in all 5 looks. I will definitely be using this palette quite a lot and I cannot wait! Stay tuned, until next time Divas.
